All the Baloch areas in Balochistan are center of Pakistani military operations but the case with Marri and Bugti tribes is worst of all. These raids and operations against them are not only contained in Dera Bugti and Kohlu but also in other areas where families belonging to these tribes abode. In such a situation New Kahan, an area adjacent to Quetta where families of Marri Baloch are settled, has been the focal point. And now, Marri tribe’s settlements in Sibi and Windar have also come under ruthless attacks of Pakistani military and its intelligence agencies. It was witnessed last day when Pakistani forces besieged Marri settlements in Sibi and Winder and conducted a massive military operation. Several people were abducted and shifted to unknown places.

They entered houses by breaking the doors and windows, treading on honors and beating up the children and elderly women and men. According to the victims’ families, the persons abducted by Pakistani forces, including several children and women, are still missing with no knowledge of their whereabouts. They term such savage actions of Pakistani forces unreasonable and revengeful. The analysts say that Marri Baloch are being punished due to the soft corner that they hold for Baloch struggle. Baloch civil society has been infuriated by such ruthless acts, and considers operations in Sibi and Windar as part of Islamabad’s plan of Baloch Genocide. According to Baloch intelligentsia, Pakistan wants to suppress Baloch national struggle with such ruthless and savage acts but these are doomed to failure. Such actions would result in increasing hatred and anger against the forces and would fuel more tension and worsen the crisis.
