Proposed US CG in Quetta to Monitor Development Projects in Balochistan

QUETTA: Information Officer at Consulate of the United States of America in Karachi, Andie De Arment, has said that the proposed US Consulate General will supervise and monitor ongoing development projects besides providing funding to health and education sectors.


She said this while talking to a delegation of Balochistan Lecturers at a local hotel here on Wednesday.


“The proposed US Consulate will focus helping to resolve issues pertaining to local inhabitants,” she said adding that Pakistan is the top country amongst world and its students are enjoying US Fulbright scholarship programs.


She said that the US government keeping in view importance of Pakistan has been paying special attention to Balochistan along with other provinces in order to help in bringing financial betterment in the life standard of local people.


“US committed to the sustainable development in the region and wants augment people to people interaction, she noted and added that the US educationists would soon pay visit to the province to share common experience in the domain of education.”


Andie deplored that due to the lack of interaction and communication on both ends people in Balochistan could not be benefited from the plenty of scholarships announced for aspirants in Pakistan.
“America, on its part was striving to bring about positive change in the lives of the people here” she added.


US is committed to provide opportunities to the students of Balochistan to visit universities in America so that they could build a better future for Pakistan, she added.


Earlier, Balochistan lecturers lauded the endeavors made by the US government for the development of Pakistan and apprised Information officer about the problems faced was faced by them while availing the American scholarships. They also hoped US would continue supporting education sector in Balochistan in future.
