Occupied Balochistan: Lawyers staged a protest demonstration in front of the Chief Minister House and Governor House on Saturday demanding immediate and safe recovery of kidnapped lawyers. They took out a procession from Sessions Court and marched through different roads and held a demonstration in front of the Chief Minister House and Governor House. They chanted slogans against Government for its failure to protect the life, honour and property of the people. The rally was led by Bilal Kasi Advocate and Nazir Agha Advocate.
Addressing the protesters, Bilal Kasi said Munir Ahmed Mirwani advocate was kidnapped a year ago from Khuzdar district by a group of armed men while Agha Zahir Shah, who was assisting the High Court over the cases of Baloch missing persons, was whisked away from Quetta some two months ago. He said ‘we are still on token hunger strike on daily basis but none of any government official is taking serious note about our protest. Thousands of lawyers are involved in daily protest, he said.
“Target killings are going unabated, bullet riddle bodies are being recovered and people are being kidnapped in this so called democratic government”, he said and adding that the government had failed to rule the province according to the established laws of the land and constitution. He said government is involved in worst form of violation of human rights of the people in the province. Lawyers warned that they will continue their strike until kidnapped lawyers are recovered.
