News : Families of abducted Marri Baloch from New Kahan demanded their immediate release

Occupied Balochistan: The families of over a dozen Marri Baloch arrested and disappeared from New Kahan on Friday (22-04-2011), in a joint statement, have demanded for the immediate release of their loved one. They urged Human Rights Organisations to play their due role in securing the safe recovery and early release of the resident of New Kahan ‘some of whom have been arrested in critically injured condition’. The statement further read that the injured prisoners must be taken to hospital for instant treatment.

They said on Friday during a 13 hour long search operation the Pakistani FC and Intelligence agencies have arrested over a dozen innocent Marri people. The names of the arrested men are as following – Abdul Rehman S/O Baig Mohammad Pirkani, Sher Khan S/O Bahar Khan Marri, Ali Sher S/O Beebrag Marri, Khuda Dad S/O Ali Bux Marri (Teenage), Dada S/O Zahro Marri, Houran S/O Yar Khan Marri, Karim Baig Marri, Saen Dad Marri, Nodhan Marri, Whazdad Marri, Hazoori Marri, Jamal Han Marri, Kalaree Marri, Noor Ali Marri and Qasim Marri. They that during this operation a women and two children had also been wounded.

The joint statement of the relatives further read that “Over 100 search operations have been carried out in New Kahan since Musharraf took power; not a single illegal item has been found during these manoeuvres. Apart from these hundreds of operations the security forces had established FC and Police pickets around New Kahan for several months to monitor the movement of the residents but still no one has been found involved in any unlawful activity”. Despite such strict monitoring of the area the security forces arrest the residents and raid peoples’ houses for the sole purpose of their political belief. They said that during Friday’s operation and in past operations the Pakistani security forces looted peoples’ cash and valuables.

Fearing for the life of arrested injured men the relative said that according to International laws wounded prisoners must be provided with medication immediately even in a state of war but Pakistan security force did not allow us to take our wounded women and children to hospital for treatment – instead – they arrested and disappeared four injured men.

The families urged the Balochistan High Court, Pakistan Supreme Court, Human Rights Organisations, Amnesty International, United Nations and other Humanitarian Organisation to play their due role for the safe release of their loved ones.

Meanwhile BNF and other Baloch political parties strongly condemned the attack on New Kahan. The Baloch parties termed the attack as a barbaric act of the state [Pakistan]. They vowed that Baloch struggle for liberation cannot be weaken by such brutal behaviours. Baloch will continue their struggle until they regain their freedom.
