A remote controlled explosion killed one man and injured seven others in the southwestern Pakistani city of Quetta early Tuesday morning.
According to the police, an explosive device fixed in a car went off around 7:20 a.m. local time (0220 GMT) near the office of a non-governmental organization in Quetta, the capital city of Balochistan.
Vehicles and houses located near the blast site were also partially destroyed.
Security forces cordoned off the area and rushed the injured to the nearest government-run hospital for treatment.
Balochistan province often remains under insurgency by militants. There is a popular belief that the miscreants involved in such incidents belong to the nationalist groups who want to win more rights for themselves from the province's natural resources.
Earlier on Monday, a landmine blast killed two security personnel near a coal field, and two other laborers were also gunned down by unidentified miscreants in the same area.
