* President Zardari says government plans to give special stipend to Baloch students studying in other provinces

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday reiterated the government’s commitment to resolving all issues relating to Balochistan.
In a meeting with a delegation from Balochistan, led by Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani, the president said the grievances and a sense of deprivation prevailing among the people of Balochistan would be addressed in light of the recommendations made by the parliamentary committee on Balochistan.
He said the government was paying special attention to the development of the province as the future of the country was linked to it.
Zardari said the government was planning to give special stipends to Baloch students studying in recognised academic institutions in other provinces, adding that this would encourage students to seek admissions in academic institutions in other provinces, helping promote national integration.
President Zardari said various steps for the province’s swift socio-economic development were underway. He expressed confidence that these new initiatives would help address the concerns of the people of Balochistan and improve the law and order situation in the province.
The delegation thanked the president for taking a keen interest in addressing the concerns of the province and expressed confidence that the efforts of the government would help improve the situation in the previously neglected province of Balochistan. The chief minister of Balochistan also apprised the president about the current development activities in the province.
The delegation included Senator Haji Lashkar Raisani, Maulana Abdul Wasay, Sadiq Ali Umrani, Mohammad Aslam Kurd, Asadullah Baloch, Zafrullah Khan Zehri and Muhammad Younas Malazai.
