Protest against the abduction of Baloch students in Turbat

Occupied Balcohistan: Qambar Chakar, a senior activist of BSO-Azad, and his cousin Irshad Baloch had been whisked away by plainclothes Pakistani security officials in Turbat on Friday. They were taken to an unknown destination. Pakistani official sources were blank and did not offer any comment on the kidnapping of BSO man. They were taken away in a raid on their residence by the security personnel, BSO members claimed.

As a result of the kidnapping, BSO workers in Pasni staged a noisy demonstration condemning the kidnapping and termed it hostage taking. The protesters were carrying placards and banners and shouted slogans Pakistani rulers and Intelligence agencies.

Meanwhile, a complete shutter down strike was observed in Turbat on Friday condemning the abduction of two Baloch students. Most of the shops and trading centers remained closed for the day in response to the call given by BSO-Azad.

Addressing a news conference at Turbat, leader of BSO-Azad, Farida Baloch said that personnel of secret agencies had carried out the raid in the house of Baloch students and violated the sanctity of home. “The security personnel took away Qambar Chakar and his cousin,” she said. Several Baloch students have been abducted by Pakistani intelligence agencies it has become more like a routine for the Pakistani army to abduct Baloch student and political activists, she added. Talking to newsmen she said that “We have received bullet riddled dead bodies which had put a question mark on the efforts of humanitarian organization that even did not bother say a single word,”. The protesters demanded international humanitarian organizations and judiciary to take notice of this deteriorating human rights situation in Balochistan.
