Lahore, Nov 24 (ANI): The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has called the killing of six missing persons, whose bullet-riddled bodies were found from different parts of Balochistan during the Eid festival, "appalling and unreservedly condemnable."
"The killing of six missing persons from Balochistan, whose bullet-riddled bodies were found in Turbat, Mastung, Khuzdar and Kalat during the three days of Eidul Azha, is appalling and unreservedly condemnable," the Daily times quoted a statement issued by the commission, as saying.
"The timing of recovery of the bodies makes it difficult to argue with the Baloch voice that describes the foul deeds as Eid gift to the people of Balochistan," the statement added.
This was certainly not the proper way to resolve the issue of enforced disappearances, said the statement, adding that the recovery of the bodies had not only been devastating for the victims' families, but had also heightened anxieties of the families of other missing persons, who were pursuing the matter in courts.
It said that the situation in the Balochistan province was volatile and the people felt abandoned, largely because of their mistreatment at the hands of security agencies.
The HRCP statement called for an urgent need to rethink the attitude of the state towards Balochistan. (ANI)
