The Iranian infamous Revolutionary Guards on early morning of Wed, 30th June 2010 launched several heavy rockets on innocent Baloch people in Serkizai village in Zamuran Sub-District in Pakistani occupied Baluchistan. The rockets hit homes and injured six people. Following their rocket assault on the village, the Revolutionary Guards made direct incursion into the villages by flouting international laws. It is reported that they took hostage with them the injured people into Iranian occupied Baluchistan.
It is not the first time that the Iranian infamous Revolutionary Guards fired rockets across the borders of divided Baluchistan. Last year the Iranian forces fired rockets on Mashkil a small town in Pakistani occupied Baluchistan allegedly in pursuit of Baluch resistance fighters. The Iranian infamous Revolutionary Guards in the same month of June 2010 also made at least two incursions into Iraqi Kurdistan which was met with strong protest of the Kurdistan regional government. It is a policy of Iranian state to ignore international laws and have no respect for sovereignty of its neighbours, and to allow its forces to make unabated incursions across international borders.
On Mashkil’s incursion understandably Pakistan made no efforts to stop Iran for the violation of international norms and border laws since they are in collaboration against Baluch people.
The Iranian state under various governments has shown that it sees no limit to its bullying attitude with its weak neighbours. Iran has assassinated Baluch political opponents in Karachi and other political leaders and activists all over the world without being accountable for such crimes.
It is regrettable to see the international powers have chosen to be silent toward Iran’s criminal actions on Baluch people. The international community must realise that it is their wrong policy of appeasement which is making Iran a nuclear power. Despite some rhetoric, the policy of appeasement has freely allowed Iran to extend its deadly fanatic influence from Afghanistan to Europe’s border, Lebanon.
Baluchistan National Movement strongly condemns Iran’s deadly rocket assault on innocent Baluch people of Zamuran area of Pakistani occupied Baluchistan. It reminds the international powers that it is not only the fate of Baluch people at risk, but also the issue of regional peace and stability is at stake with unchallenged influence and with unabated incursions of Iran.
Baluchistan National Movement urges the international community to abandon policy of appeasement and to work effectively to curb Iran’s criminal acts and incursions. They need to be united against fundamentalist and expansionist regime of Iran for peace and security in the region. Perhaps the first step could be initiated with actions to protect human rights of Baluch and others alike. Demand for immediate release of Baluch hostages and making Iran accountable for its deadly rocket attack on innocent Baluch people of Serkizai village are international obligation which free world shall take notice and actions.
