Police constable gunned down and settlers attacked in Quetta

Occupied Baluchistan: A police constable was shot dead near Barech Market at the Sirki Road in Quetta on Friday.

According to police officials, Head Constable Syed Zulfiqar Ali was going home when unidentified armed motorcyclists fired at him

As a result, the victim died on the spot while the assailants managed to flee. Police reached the spot and shifted the body to the Government Sandman Hospital, Quetta for an autopsy.

Law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area and started a search operation to arrest the culprits. Afterwards, Zulfiqar’s body was sent to his hometown Bahawalnagar for burial. According to police, the incident was a case of target killing.

Police registered a case and has started investigation. Incidents of target killing have increased to an alarming extent in insurgency-hit Balochistan.

Meanwhile Jihand Baloch, a spokesperson of Baluch Liberation Army, informed News agencies that fighters from his Organisation have attacked the houses of settlers in Barewery Road and Railway Housing Society in Quetta. He reiterated that such attack will continue until the Independence of Baluchistan.
