On 1st of June 2011 when Baloch Professor Saba Dashtyari was on his way home from the University of Balochistan in Quetta, the death squad of Pakistani terrorist state extra-judicially assassinated him with bullets. Few days ago in a speech at the University of Balochistan he revealed that he has been receiving threat of elimination from unknown people on many occassions.He was steadfast and resolute in his struggle for the freedom and independence of Balochistan. He devoted his entire life for Baluchi language, Baluchi culture and freedom of Balochistan. He was a leading figure in all demonstrations against enforced disappearance and extra-judicial killing of Baloch activists by dark forces of Pakistani military establishment. In an interview with Radio Balochistan he said that the Pakistani military operations have failed to suppress Baloch movement and its fighters, that is why they are resorting to “kill and dump” policy. Despite of being aware of the imminent threats to his life, he remained vocal against the injustices of Pakistani state against innocent Baloch people. In effect he with intent rejected the fear and embraced with Joy the struggle for freedom of Balochistan.
