Frightened of Saba Dashtyari’ ideology Iran orders to cancel farewell celebrations at Zahedan University

At the annual event they (students) might talk about the ideology of Saba Dashtyari which contradict Iran’s interest: Minister of Education

Occupied Balochistan (Zahedan): The Iranian authorities have refused to allow Zahedan University students to hold the annual farewell celebrations. The education department fears that students might discuss the ideology of professor Saba Dashtyari, murdered by Pakistan’s military death squad in Quetta, which are contrary to Iran’s interest.

According to details each year the educational and academic circles hold farewell events to honour the leaving Baloch graduates but this year the government refused to allow them to hold any such events. However, on the insistence of the students the government had allowed the organisers to go ahead with the event on the conditions that no Baloch religious scholars will be invited. The student had acceded to this demand and started preparing for the event.

After the brutal murder of professor Saba Dashtyari, a Baloch scholar from Pakistan occupied Baluchistan, the Iranian authorities suddenly issued a notice that the graduation celebrations for this year have been cancelled.

A Baloch official working with the ministry of education in Iran, on the conditions of anonymity, has informed sources that the decision to cancel this year’s event at Zahedan University has been taken in the light of professor Saba Dashtyari’s murder. The ministry of education fears that Baloch student will shed light on the educational, academic and linguistic activities of the late Baloch educationist which are against the Iranian interest. Hence, the government of Iran has decided to disallow the farewell celebrations for Baloch graduates this year.
