The government is determined to provide solace to the people of Balochistan and the recent package announced would be implemented without any let or hindrance.
This assurance was given by Senator Raza Rabbani, a senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and author ‘Aghaz-e-Huqooq-e- Balochistan’ (Balochistan package) on Monday.
Rabbani, who was instrumental behind the Balochistan package, claimed that the package has already started to deal with the issue of missing persons owing to which more than two dozen people were released and had returned to their homes.
He, however, admitted that the trust deficit dtill exist between Islamabad and the Balochs and the government was serious in its intentions and whatever was in the package would be delivered. “The people of Balochistan think that such promises were made in the past and the same were not fulfilled. They wonder as to whether this package would be implemented this time. The federal government, Prime Minister and President have given assurances to the Balochs that the package would be implemented,” he declared.
Rabbani also warned that that those who would attempt to create hurdles in the package’s implementation would be sidelined.
“This is a serious issue and if the package is not implemented, there will be serious dangers for the federation.”
