Baloch Women Panel protest against cold-blooded murder of Martyrs of Murghab

Karachi: Baloch Women Panel took observed a protest demonstration in front of Karachi Press Club against the ruthless murder of three Baloch leaders last year on 8, April. BNM chairman Ghulam Mohammd Baloch, Lala Munir Baloch and Sher Mohammad Baloch were abducted at gunpoint from their lawyers’ office in broad day light on 3, April 2009. Three days later their dead bodies were found in a deserted area in Turbat’s Pedarag region. Eye witnesses and the lawyer of Baloch leaders had testified that the kidnappers were escorted by the FC (Frontier Corps).

A large number of Baloch women gathered outside Karachi Press Club to commemorate and condemn the murder of Baloch leaders by the Pakistani intelligence agencies. The organiser of the demonstration and leader of BWP while address the crowd and the media said that exactly one year ago April, 2009 three Baloch leaders were abducted after they had attended a court hearing in Turbat. The Baloch leaders were consulting their lawyers when the intelligence agencies of Pakistan raided the office and abducted them at gunpoint, their hands were tied behind and they were blind folded. Five day after their forceful arrest the bodies of the Baloch National leader were discovered from a deserted area in Murghab. The Baloch women termed the murder of Baloch leaders a ferocious, inhuman act of a so called Islamic state.

They said Shaheed Ghulam Mohammad Baloch worked hard for the safety and recovery of the UN staff Mr John Solecki and he was the head of the committee which was constituted to recover John unharmed. The Baloch women speaker said that Pakistani intelligence agencies tried their best to provoke Baloch freedom fighters to harm, even kill John Solecki so that the Baloch struggle for liberation can be interpreted as a terrorist movement. When they (Intelligence agencies of Pakistan) failed to get Mr Solecki harmed and he was released safe & sound. They got frustrated by the effort of GM Baloch thus they killed him and his companions in custody. They said it was obvious that Baloch are only struggling for Independence of their motherland and against Pakistani occupation.

The speakers stated that currently thousands of Baloch men, women and children are in custody of state [Pakistani] savage forces. The relatives of the forced-disappeared people don’t even know whether their love ones are alive or have they been killed in secret military torture cells. “We want to ask the Pakistani media and the so called Mullahs (clerics) who always blame the Hindus and the Jews for killing the Muslims. Are Baloch not Muslim and why these mullahs and Pakistan media are silent on the atrocities of Pakistan army in Balochistan”? They ‘Pakistan military’ are engaged in Un-Islamic and inhuman action & conspiracies in Balochistan, they alleged.

They appealed the UN, European Union and the civilised world to take notice of Baloch massacre and genocide in accordance with Geneva conventions and bring the Pakistan military perpetrators to international court of justice.
