Manwar Hassan: ‘Balochistan Is Burning’

QUETTA: Ameer Jamat Islami (JI) Syed Manwar Hassan Tuesday said Balochistan was burning and if it was not seriously tackled the future of the country would be bleak.
He stated this while addressing a sit-in at Meezan Chowk of Quetta organized by JI to express solidarity with Balochistan and against killing of missing persons, lawlessness and drone attacks in FATA.

JI leader said Balochistan was the largest province of the country where rulers committed injustices during past six decades and deliberately kept it undeveloped that caused sense of deprivation amongst its people. “Five military operations have been carried out in Balochistan”, he said, adding that country’s army killed its own people in Balohcistan and Khyber Pakhuton Khowa.
He expressed serious concern over recovery of bullet-riddled bodies of Baloch missing persons, saying along with federal the provincial government was equally responsible for the deteriorating law and order situation and extra- judicial killings.

JI leader said that Balochistan was rich in natural resources but through a conspiracy hatched by U.S., it was kept backward. He said the future of the country was linked with Balochistan and if its grievances were not addressed timely, the future of the country would be dark.
Strongly criticising the U.S., he said that U.S. along with its allies was engaged in Afghanistan for the last eleven years and was facing a defeat.

Referring to Osama Bin Ladin, he said Osama was the name of an attitude, though he had been killed but his thought was alive among the people.

He regretted over the attitude of Muslim rulers for not raising voice over barbarism of United States against Muslims. “There are 56 Muslim states across the world having mineral resources but non of them has courage to take action against Israel which is killing innocent and unarmed Palestinians. India had deployed a large number of army in Kashmir but no one is standing against it”, he remarked.
Criticsing MQM for rejoining government, Syed Munawar Hassan said Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was equally responsible in wrong doings of incumbent government as he had supported Zardari during last three and half year.

He asked the people to rightly use their right of franchise and vote for an honest leadership in upcoming general elections.

He said that if rulers did not mend their ways then nobody could stop a revolution in the country.
Other JI leaders, including Maulana Abdul Haq Hashimi and Abdul Mateen Akundzad, criticised rulers for committing injustices in Balochistan which was once the most peaceful province of the country. They said a new trend of killing missing persons and packing their bodies in sacks had been introduced after federal cabinet meeting in Quetta. “Four decomposed dead bodies of Baloch missing persons recovered after the federal cabinet meeting”, they added.
They also criticised provincial government and said it had badly failed to address the miseries of the people.
