Swedish foreign minister Carl Bildt has promised "Nordic solidarity" with neighbouring Norway after a bomb explosion rocked government buildings in Oslo on Friday, killing several people and injuring many others.

"I immediately had contact with my Norwegian colleague Jonas Störe to express our deep sympathy to all those affected and to provide any assistance such as may be required."
In a later post, Bildt commented concluded that the blast was an attack.
"Terrorism has struck. Police confirms bomb in Oslo. We are all Norwegians," he said.
According to Norwegian media reports, two people have been confirmed dead in the powerful blast which rocked through the centre of the city at 3.28pm.
Police originally believed that there may be further bombs but at 5.25pm confirmed to the Norwegian news agency NTB that there are no indications that that is the case.
