Bullet riddled body of Baloch poet-teacher found in Turbat, protest in Balochistan

Occupied Balochistan: Another bullet riddled body of a teacher was found in Guna area of Turbat on Saturday, police said.

According to the Turbat Police, some people informed the police about the body and the police party rushed to the spot, took the body in possession and shifted it to the District Headquarters Hospital, Turbat, where he was identified as Master Saleem s/o Dad Mohammad, a resident of Turbat. “The victim received two bullets in his head and chest which had resulted in his instant death” sources at hospital confirmed. “He was whisked away along with his friend from the same locality of Turbat some ten days ago”, sources said “Master Saleem’s kidnapping case was registered against unknown persons in Turbat Police Station by his Mother Hameeda” police said.

After recovery of the dead body, a complete shutter down strike was observed in Turbat area to condemn the recovery of bullet riddled body of Master Saleem. The relatives of Master Saleem Baloch said that he was not involve in any political activity and by profession he was a school teacher in Government High School Kalatuk. He was a renowned poet of Balochi which could have been the cause of kidnapping and killing. They appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take a notice of the extra Judicial killing of the Master Saleem Baloch, a renowned poet and intellectual.

As many as 200 Baloch student activists, political workers, lawyers, journalists, teachers and poets who were forcibly disappeared, were killed by the Pakistan army in Balochistan since July 2010.

Shutter down in protest against killing of Raisani: A complete shutter down strike was observed in major parts of Balochistan on Saturday condemning the target killing of the Balochistan National Party leader Mir Juma Khan Raisani on Friday. He was one of the most senior leaders of Balochistan National Party (BNP) and was gunned down along with his three companions in Gizigi area of Khuzdar.

He was on his way back home after offering Jumma prayers when unknown sharp shooter opened fire on his vehicle killing them instantly. The business and trade activities in Khuzdar, Nal, Zehri, Mastung, Kalat, Wadh, Kalat, Surab, Awaran and Lasbela came to a complete halt during the strike.

The strike call was given by the BNP to condemn target killing of its top leaders in a row. All the shops, markets, commercial establishments, banks and even chemist shops and eating houses remained closed for the day. The traffic was thin on the roads as people preferred to stay indoors. Strict security measures had been taken in these districts to avoid any untoward incident and maintain public order. Balochistan National Party has announced his protest schedule in the statement issued here on Friday.

The Shutter strike will be observed in Naushki, Dalbandin, Kharan and Washuk on 24th July (today), 25th July in Makuran Division, 26th July Naseerabad Division, 29th July in Quetta Division and protest rallies in all over Balochistan on 30 July.

Meanwhile, BNP staged a protest demonstration in front of Quetta Press Club and raised slogans against provincial government and law enforcement agencies. Addressing the protestors, Central Information Secretary of BNP, Agha Hassan said that Baloch nationalist leaders are being targeted because of their struggle for self-determination. “The political movement will not be stopped or deterred by targeted killings and dumping the mutilated bodies of Baloch political opponents,” he said and, adding it was PPP government which carried out brutal operation in 1970s and again it is carrying out Baloch genocide with the help establishment.
