Three security men injured in Quetta

QUETTA: Four people, including three personnel of Balochistan Constabulary (BC), were injured in an incident of firing on Saryab Road in provincial capital on Friday morning.

According to official sources, unidentified armed men riding on a motorcycle opened fire on an official vehicle of BC injuring three personnel and a teenage passerby. The assailants managed to escape from the scene after committing the crime. Police rushed to the spot soon after the incident and cordoned off the area. The injured were taken to the Sandeman Hospital for treatment where they were identified as Altaf Husain, Abdul Fathee, Mujeeb ur Rehman and 12-year-old Ehsaan Ali.

A search has been launched in the area for the arrest of culprits, a senior police officer told Daily Times.

Meanwhile, a man died in a landmine explosion in Dera Bugti district on Friday morning.

Official sources said the blast took place when a man Niaz Ali, who was passing through in Dil Gowash area of Dera Bugti, stepped on a landmine placed along the road. As a result of the blast he died on the spot. The body was taken to nearby a hospital for autopsy and later handed over to heirs for burial.
