Occupied Balochistan: Pakistani security forces have arrested several Baloch activists last week including at least two members of BSO-azaad the largest Baloch student Organisation in Balochistan. Shakir Baloch and Sami Baloch members of Baloch Student Organisations (AZAD) Khuzdar zone have been abducted by Pakistan FC in broad day light on 1st October 2010. They have been shifted to an unknown location and their families have no clue of their whereabouts.
Whereas two Marri Baloch have been arrested from Hub industrial town of Balochistan on 29 September 2010. The Marri Baloch victims of enforced-disappearance have been named as Sohbat Khan Marri and Arz Mohammad (Arzi Marri).
In Khuzdar, another two innocent Baloch Khiar Mohammad and Murtaza Zehri have been abducted by armed persons on 28 September 2010. According to families of the youth both Murtaza and Khair Mohammad were picked up from a shop at Chakar Road where they were working. The whereabouts of the both youth remains unknown like thousands other in Balochistan.
Separately, two Baloch youth have been arrested from Basima region of Balochistan on 23 September 2010. Eye-witnesses reported that Abdul Wahid Baloch, a peon/Watchman at a government school, and Ali Ahmad Baloch who owns a small business have been arrested and disappeared during a search operation in Basima. The Pakistani forces also searched the house of a female school teacher and on finding no male present at the home they badly harassed female and children occupants of the houses. It has been alleged that Pakistani force looted cash and valuables from the house and took away a motorcycle with them as well.
Meanwhile according to reports from Pasni town of Balochistan, Pakistani security forces have rounded up over a dozen innocent Baloch civilian members of public after unknown persons shot injured an official of Coast Gaurd in the town.
It is worth mentioning that Baloch Nationalist parties and family of Baloch missing persons say that around 8000 people, including men, women and children, have been abducted from various parts of Balochistan since 2000 when ex-Pakistani military dictator General Musharraf declared war against people of Balochistan. The situation of Balochistan has not improved after the so called democratically elected government came in power in 2008. In fact the situation further deteriorated and Pakistani security forces accelerated extra judicial arrests and killings in Balochistan. Just in the month of August 2010, the Pakistani intelligence agencies killed in cold blood twenty Baloch political activists including two lawyers who had been picked up by Pakistani secret agencies ISI/MI from different areas. The fates of the rest of the extra-judicially detained persons remain uncertain in custody (torture cells) of Pakistani agencies.
Baloch Diaspora and Baloch political activist from Balochistan have repeatedly urged the UN, EU and other Western democracies to take notice of the ongoing gross Human Rights Violations in Balochistan as the lives of thousands of Baloch missing persons are in grave danger, especially after the agencies have started to kill Baloch detainees one by one. Unfortunately, so far the international community have failed to play any significant role to help the people of Balochistan.
