BSO-Azad strike suspends traffic in different towns of Balochistan

Occupied Balochistan QUETTA: Complete shutter down and wheel jam strike was observed in parts of central Balochistan on Thursday in protest against the alleged kidnapping of workers of Balochistan Students Organisation-Azad (BSO-Azad) and non-recovery of missing persons.

Protestors blocked the RCD highway at different places leading to disruption of traffic between Quetta and Karachi for several hours. BSO-Azad workers put up barricades on the RCD highway at Kalat, Khuzdar and Surab. The blockade also suspended supplies to NATO forces in Afghanistan. The protesters demanded immediate release of their arrested colleagues and recovery of all missing persons.

The strike, called by BSO-Azad, was observed in Khuzdar, Kalat, Surab, Mastung, Awaran, Masheky, Naal, and Zehri. Business activities remained suspended in these areas, while most streets and roads wore a deserted look. Educational institutions were also closed for the day and attendance at government offices was thin.
