Balochistan Assembly Condemns Suicide Attacks on JUI Chief Maulana Fazal Rehman

QUETTA: The 65-member Balochistan Assembly adopted a parliamentary condemnation resolution on Thursday against two consecutive suicide attacks on Maulana Fazalur Rehman, the head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, which is a key component of the coalition government in Balochistan.
Balochistan Minister for Forests and wildlife Maulana Abdul Samad moved resolution and said that on March 30 a suicide attack was carried out on procession of Maulana Fazalur Rehman in Sawabi in which 10 people were killed and several others wounded, similarly on March 31 another suicide attack was made in Charsadda on the carvan of party chief that killed 15 people and left many others with serious wounds.
He said that such attacks were aimed at to build pressure on religious leaders so that they could be stopped from their objects. “Maulana Fazalur Rehman is struggling for the promotion of Islamic values and unity amongst Muslim Umma there anti-Islamic so forces cannot tolerate it”, He said and demanded that perpetrators of this crimes should be brought to justice.
Jaffar Khan Mandokhel expressing grief over the loss of lives said that such attacks were leading the country to destruction and government had to take serious steps to eliminate terrorism.
Rubina Irfan said that entire world was facing menace of terrorism in which people belong to all segment of life were being affected. “We can’t afford to lose leaders who take birth after centuries”, she added.
Mir Sadiq Umrani condemned the suicide attacks on JUI-F leader and said that both Maulana Fazlur Rehman and his father had played a vital role against dictatorships. He said that we had lost many leaders in the incidents of terrorism, including Balochistan Ministers Shafiq Ahmed Khan and Sardarzada Rustam Jamali, Federal Minister Shahbaz Bhutti and Governor Punjab Sulman Taseer.
Other legislators, including Matiullah Agha, Zahoor Buledi and Naseern Kehtran condemned suicide attacks on JUI-F Amir and said that if such attacks were not stopped the country would head towards anarchy.
