Baloch senators protest over electricity crisis in province

Islamabad: Senators hailing from Balochistan protesting severely over non availability of electricity in province said the agriculture sector is being badly affected and if the govt does not pay attention to the situation than its consequences would be dangerous.

Talking on a point of order in the senate, Senator Hasil Bazenjo said since past 22 days there is no electricity in 16 districts of Balochistan. Eventually water is not available for drinking as well as for agriculture. Balochistan is just being intimated by Aghaz e Haqooqi Balochistan Package. Government is least interested in Balochistan.
Abdul Rahim Mando Khel and Ghafoor Haidri expressed their concerns that Government would face disastrous consequences if it would not pay any heed to Balochistan’s circumstances.
Senator Abdul Rahim Mando Khel said that condition of power supply is as regrettable as peace and security situation in Balochistan. Agriculture that is dependent on tube wells are also becoming out of order in province due to non-availability of electricity.
Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri said that condition of supply of power is not satisfactory in Balochistan. Government has snatched the right of living from public by rising prices of petroleum products.
Leader of House Nayyer Bukhari said that Powerhouses in Balochistan are being targeted and blown up which affects the supply of electricity.
Chairman Senate Farooq H Naik has directed to summon Federal Minister for Power and Water in Senate to brief the House about the situation of power supply in Balochistan.
