QUETTA: Balochistan National Party (BNP) held a demonstration in front of the Quetta Press Club on Friday in protest against the extra-judicial killings, military operation in Balochistan, disappearances of Baloch youth and later recovery of their decomposed bodies. BNP Information Secretary, Agha Hassan Baloch, led the demonstration. The protesters were carrying placards and banners in their hands inscribed with slogans against the government. Addressing the protestors, the speakers said the operation which began during the tenure of former president Pervez Musharraf was still continuing. They accused the authorities of carrying out ethnic cleansing of the Baloch people. Hassan said it was a matter of great irony that the chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) was silent over the killings of Baloch people and continuation of the military operation. “We have never seen the CJP taking suo motu notice of the killings and dumping of dead bodies. Neither, have we seen him issuing directives for the recovery of thousands of missing persons,” he said. staff report
