Three NATO Trucks Destroyed in Kalat

QUETTA: Three NATO oil tankers were attacked and destroyed on RCD highway in Mongechar area of Kalat district, some 145-kilomiter off Quetta, on Monday.

According to sources, oil tankers, carrying fuel for NATO forces stationed in Afghanistan, were heading to Kandahar from Karachi when unidentified assailants ridding on a motorcycles opened fire on them. They also set one tanker on fire and damaged two others. Thousands of liters fuel spilled over on the road as the fuel tank exploded. However, no casualty was reported in the attack.

Levies official reached the site after being informed and started investigations. The assailants have been frequently carrying out attacks on NATO supplies for the past many months and no arrest had been made so far in this regard. No organization had claimed the responsibility of targeting and destroying NATO oil tankers in Central Balochistan.
