QUETTA: Unidentified gunmen on Friday killed an official of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) in Quetta, police said. The police said the assailants opened fire on Tanveer Raza, an IB inspector, while he was walking on Zargoon Road near the office of the Railways divisional superintendent. Raza died instantly. Police have registered a case and began investigation.
No one has so far claimed responsibility for the attack. In the past, Baloch insurgents have been accepting responsibility for targeted killing of policemen and intelligence officials in and around Quetta. The province has been ravaged by targeted killings, mostly at the hands of Baloch militants demanding autonomy for the province.
