QUETTA: The Balochistan Assembly adopted two resolutions on Monday, calling upon the federal government to provide natural gas to remote areas of the province and reinstate 60 employees of the Mari Gas Company.
Tabling one of the resolutions, provincial Minister for Wasa Mir Habibur Rehman Muhammadhasni said that natural gas produced by Balochistan was being provided to different areas of the country, but unfortunately people in most parts of the province were yet to benefit from it.
The session presided over by Speaker Aslam Bhootani unanimously passed the resolution.
The other resolution moved by provincial Minister for Prisons Sultan Khan and adopted by the house asked the provincial government to approach the federal government to get 60 employees of the Mari Gas Company reinstated.
Minister for Irrigation Sardar Aslam Bizenjo and Minister for Mines Mir Abdur Rehman Mengal staged a token walkout in protest against the killing of two people in a firing incident in Khuzdar on Friday.
Mr Bizenjo said the incident was a conspiracy to disturb peace in the province, adding that it should be investigated by a judge of the Balochistan High Court.
