QUETTA: A police official escaped a remote controlled bomb attack in the outskirts of Quetta within the jurisdiction of Shalkot police station on Tuesday.
According to the police, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) New Sariab police station Sikandar Tareen was passing from Mian Ghundi area when explosive material planted along with Quetta-Mastung highway by unidentified people exploded with big bang soon as the vehicle of police official passed by the area. As a result, bomb splinters hit the vehicle that scattered its glasses, however, no body injured in the explosion.
Soon after the blast police and other law enforcement agencies rushed to the site and cordoned off the area. “Explosives were detonated through a remote control device and DSP Sikandar Tareen was the main target,” a police officer said. No group has accepted responsibility for the attack so far.
Police have registered a case and started further investigation into the incident
