QUETTA/KHUZDAR/KECH: A complete shutter down strike was observed in Khuzdar on the call of the Baloch National Front (BNF) against the killing of two Baloch activists, arrest of several others and burning of civilians’ homes in Thotak area of Khuzdar district.
Mohammad Naheem Baloch and Yahya Baloch were killed by the Frontier Corps (FC) in a deadly operation in Khuzdar district on Friday morning which lasted for many hours.
Thousands of people attended the burial of the two victims of the operation as they were laid to rest in their ancestral gravyard.
Daily life in Khuzdar remained totally paralyzed as all business centers, banks and government offices remained completely closed in a positive response to the call for the strike.
Members of the the Qalandarani, Sumalani and Qambarani tribes protested in front of Quetta Press Club on Saturday to condemn the use of unprovoked forces against the civilians in Khuzdar. They demanded immediate action against the elements in the security forces responsible for the killing of young Baloch men.
In Turbat, the BSO Azad also organized a protest against the operation in Khuzdar.
