“The party is being punished for raising its voice for the Baloch coast and resources,” Baloch said.
Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) called for protest demonstrations across Balochistan on July 2, against alleged security forces’ operation in the town of Wadh in Khuzdar district. BNP-M Central Secretary Information Agha Hassan Baloch said security forces had launched an operation in Wadh and surrounding areas. "Security forces have picked up 12 BNP-M activists without any reason," Baloch alleged.
He said people of the area were being punished for voting in favour of Sardar Akhtar Mengal in the provincial assembly elections. BNP-M also announced to observe a shutter-down and wheel jam strike on July 4, across Balochistan, against what it claimed was security forces’ vengeful action against its workers in Khuzdar.
"The party is being punished for raising its voice for the Baloch coast and resources," Baloch said. He said despite all odds and conspiracies, the people of Balochistan had reiterated their confidence in BNP-M during the recently held general election. -
