TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior provincial authority announced that Iran will no doubt put into action the court ruling for the capital punishment of the number two man of the Jundullah terrorist group, Abdulhamid Rigi.
"Abdulhamid Rigi has not yet been transferred to Sistan and Baluchistan's judiciary in order for us to implement the verdict, but the verdict will no doubt be implemented whenever he is transferred to the judicial authorities," Director General of Sistan and Baluchistan's provincial Judiciary Office Hojjatoleslam Ebrahim Hamidi told FNA on Sunday.
Hamidi underlined that there is no specific problem in connection with the case, adding, "It is just a verdict waiting for action, the verdict will be implemented whenever the conditions are prepared for the execution."
Abdulhamid Rigi, the brother of the ringleader of Jundullah terrorist group, has conducted a number of bombing operations and other violent attacks in Iran resulting in many casualties.
Abdulmalik Rigi, a well-known gang leader whose group has already staged several terrorist operations in southeastern Iran, has long been chased by the Iranian troops. In one of the worst cases, his group killed 22 citizens and abducted 7 more in Tasouki region.
Hamidi further mentioned that probes into the cases of a number of Jundullah members are underway and that their verdicts will be announced once investigations are completed.
