TTP Claims Responsibility Suicide Attacks in Quetta

The Baloch Hal News
QUETTA: The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan(TTP) has claimed responsibility for Wednesday’s twin suicide bomb attacks in Quetta saying that the attacks were carried out to avenge the recent arrests of al Qaeda operatives from the provincial capital.
On Monday, Pakistani authorities had said that they had detained a key Al-Qaeda leader, Younis al- Mauritani, who had been entrusted the responsibility by Osama bin Laden to attack the economic centers of the United States, Europe and Australia.
A TTP spokesman Ehsanullah Ehshan called reporters from an unspecified location to accept responsibility for the twine suicide attacks which, he said, were meant to avenge the arrest of “our Mujahedin brothers” by Pakistan security forces in Quetta earlier this week.
BBC South Asia also quoted the TTP spokesman saying that the main target was the Frontier Corps chief Farrukh Shahzad, to avenge his role in the killing of five Chechens in May by Pakistani forces in Quetta’s Khrotabad area.
