Raids on the houses of Jamil Bugti and Hamayun Marri, four employees arrested

Occupied Balochistan: The Pakistani security forces and police raided the houses of Nawabzada Jamil Akbar Bugti and former chief minister of Balochistan Mir Humayun Marri during a search operation and claimed that huge amount of weapons and explosive materials were recovered; meanwhile Jamil Bugti said that the security forces are using these tactics to pressurize them to withdraw from Akbar Bugti killing case.

According to police, after receiving secret information the police conducted search operation on Saturday morning at 8: 00 am on the house of son in law of Akber Bugti, Mir Humayun Muarri and recovered huge amount of weapons, hand grenades and explosive materials. They security forces claimed to have arrested 4 suspected persons from Marri’s house.

Mr. Bugti while talking to media said that the security forces entered in his house, “Bugti Bolak” after breaking the gate with the help of armor vehicle and searched out the house.

Nawabzada Jamil Bugti, eldest surviving son of Nawab Akbar Bugti further said that no one was allowed to enter or leave the house for around two hours. “Later the security personnel moved to the house of Humayun Marri and searched it thoroughly. Hamayun lives downtown and rarely visits his farmhouse,” he added.

Bugti said they found nothing at his residence. “The personnel later claimed to have uncovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition at the house of Humayun. It is a clear massage and reminder that security personnel are supreme and that I should not give voice against such powerful forces,” he said.

He said that a parallel government is running in Balochistan beside the political one, adding that Nawab Aslam Raisani, the chief minister of Balochistan, several times hinted at this point that there is parallel government of security forces in Balochistan which is beyond the control of the Balochistan assembly.

He said that there is no house in Balochistan which is secured from security forces, adding that the provincial government written to federal government for the arrest of Pervez Musharraf on the pressure of Balochistan High Court but the federal government is also scared from people sitting in Rawalpindi.

Mir Humayun Marri, while addressing the news conference, also rejected the claims, saying that it was an attempt to suppress those giving voice against usurpers. “I have some legal arms, but the security forces have exaggerated the quantity of arms. The personnel harassed my employees and violated the sanctity of my home. It is a conspiracy which will be foiled,” he maintained, adding that this was a move to hasten the deteriorating situation in the province.

Baloch political parties have strongly condemned the raids on Hamayun Marri and Jamil Bugti’s houses and termed it a conspiracy of the Pakistani security forces against peaceful Baloch leaders. They also said that it was a continuation of ongoing military crack-downs against Baloch leaders and political activists who are voicing against Military’s hegemony in Balochistan. They warned that such actions of the state could further deteriorate the already inflamed situation of Balochistan.
