Baloch mothers mourn as the Muslims around the World celebrate Eid

Occupied Balochistan: The in-custody killings of Baloch enforced-disappeared Baloch activists continues by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The latest killings happened on the holy day of Eid, a Muslim festival which is celebrated as soon as the month of Ramadhan finishes. The brutally tortured and mutilated body of Mohammad Sharif S/O Tangai Marri was found in the outskirt of industrial town of Hub, Balochistan.

The body was discovered on a tip off by the Police and the identity of the deceased was ascertained through a chit found from his pocket. After preliminary and essential formalities the Police handed over the body to heirs.

Source in hospital said the body bore several marks of torture and bullets. According to family sources Mohammad Sharif was a farmer and had been abducted on 28-02-2011 along with Deen Mohammad Marri and Azal Khan Marri from the industrial town of Hub in Balochistan. Azal Khan Marri was released later whereas Deen Mohammad Marri and Mohammad Sharif’s whereabouts remain unknown. However, the bullet riddled body of Deen Mohammad Marri was found on 03-09-2011 from Uthal.

Separately in Khuzdar, The ISI death squad killed the brother of Shaheed Zakaria Baloch, as martyred member of BSO-Azad. According to details Mohammd Ibrahim Baloch was on his way back to Anjeera from Surab when the agents of Pakistan military attacked him. He died on the spot due to fierce firing. Sources close to the victim told BalochWarna that Ibrahim Baloch (pictured above) was shot dead in front of his five year old son. They further said that a local criminal group who has the blessings of a tribal chief is suspected to be behind the killing.

Yaseen Baloch, another brother of Zakaria Baloch, was target killed on 04-08-2011 in the same area.

It is pertinent to mention that in the past a criminal group led by Shafiq Mengal, a hired agent of Pakistan Military, has accepted the responsibility for killing pro-freedom Baloch activists. Pakistan intelligence agencies have made several death squads that are targeting Baloch pro-independence activists of BSO-AZAD, BNM and members of other liberation seeking Baloch political parties.

The Voice for Baloch Missing Person, a Balochistan based Organisation striving for the recovery of enforced-disappeared Baloch, said that since July 2010 the Pakistani security forces have killed over 200 Baloch activists. Most of the victims have been abducted from their houses before their family members or off-loaded from passenger buses where other passengers have testified that they had been abducted by the uniformed and plain clothes personnel of Pakistan security forces.

Right groups including Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Human Rights Commission of Pakistan and Asian Human Rights Commission have also blamed the Pakistan security forces for abducting and killing Baloch political activists. After the reports of these Organisations Pakistan has not only blamed these Organisations of plotting against its Army and security forces but also has accelerated the in-custody killings and abductions of Baloch youth.
