Occupied Balochistan, QUETTA: Hundreds of doctors belonging to different hospitals took out a protest rally in the provincial capital on Wednesday and castigated the kidnapping of three doctors.
The protest rally was taken out in the city on the appeal of the Baloch Doctors Forum and marched through various roads and streets of the city. The protestors were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans demanding the recovery of the missing doctors. However, after assurances of the provincial Minister of Health Ainullah Shams, the protestors dispersed peacefully.
Earlier, talking to a delegation of the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani called upon the people belonging to different shades of life to come forward and help the government in combating the anti-social elements, paving way for a peaceful and congenial environment in the province.
Helpless Baluchistan government cannot trace Baluch abdcuted persons: “The Balochistan government is pursuing the matter of missing people and the president, the prime minister, the federal interior minister and others have been approached with regard to tracing the missing persons,” said the chief minister while talking to a delegation of the PMA Balochistan chapter which called on him here the other day.
The delegation apprised the CM of the disappearance of a number of doctors over the past few months without leaving any trail or headway with regard to their safe and early recovery.“My government has been running from pillar to post, leaving no stones unturned to get firsthand information about the whereabouts of the missing persons including the doctors,” Raisani said.
He said it was unfortunate that the miscreants had been targeting teachers, doctors and educated lot of the society only to deter the saner elements of the society to serve the people of Balochistan, especially those engaged serving the ailing people or providing education to the sons and daughters in the remote parts of the province.
Raisani condemned the incidents of target killings and abduction of people on political grounds. He maintained that the courts of law were examining the issue of missing persons and positive outcome was expected to come forth.
The chief minister called upon the civil society, especially the doctors, lawyers and the teachers to come forward, leaving behind their political, religious or ethnic loyalties for a greater cause of saving people from anti-social elements. He claimed that he was more nationalist than any political party or individual but his thoughts and beliefs were based upon love and fraternity.
