International Day in support of torture victims: Baloch Community Norway protest report

Norway: A large number of Baloch people including women and children held a protest rally in Oslo in front of Norwegian parliament, on the International Day in support of torture victims (26 June). The Baloch protesters were holding the pictures of Baloch torture victims and the abducted Baloch political activists. The Baloch Community in Norway had given the call for protest.


The well-known Baloch writer Hafeez Hasan Abadi and a leader of Baloch community Norway Mr Mohammad Erjemandi addressed the gathering .Mr Hafeez Hassan Abadi has said that Baloch nation was facing state brutality on both sides of the artificial border. He said it was the duty of Baloch who are residing in democratic and free countries outside Balochistan, to expose the states sponsored terrorism against Baloch peoples.


He said the Baloch Diaspora should bring intensity to their struggle and express their protest and anger toward the occupying states that have recently intensified their brutal actions against the Baloch people. Baloch living outside Balochistan must tell the International Community that educated and patriot Baloch sons have been disappeared by Pakistan and Iran because of their loyalty to the Baloch people and for asking for the freedom their country. Baloch nation and the abducted Baloch activists are facing these difficulties for their national liberation. Famous Baloch intellectual said all the Baloch people living abroad must consider themselves as the ambassadors of Balochistan and they must convey the demands of Baloch Martyrs and those Baloch who are suffering inhuman torture at the hands of Pakistani and Iranian state agencies, to the International community. He said that Baloch should not give a chance to political magicians to use wrongly the sacrifices made by Baloch martyrs and Baloch abducted activists for their petty demands like provincial autonomy or so called self-determination and misinterpret the Baloch struggle for National liberation at International level.


Mohammad Erjemendi said Baloch are victims of state terrorism of Pakistan and Iran, and they are deprived of the basic human rights. Baloch community in Norway leader stated that Pakistan and Iran are unsuccessfully trying to oppress Baloch national movement for liberation by their state terrorism. He said the “civilised world should take immediate notice of our political and human right issue and they should play their role to stop Iran and Pakistan from abducting, torturing and extra-judicially killing Baloch political activists.


He further said that Iran and Pakistan are doing poisonous propaganda against Baloch freedom struggle and trying to mislead the International Community by calling Baloch freedom movement as terrorism. But, in reality Baloch are struggling for their National liberation and the governments of Pakistan and Iran are trying to eliminate the Baloch struggle thought brutal force and violent means. According to the UN charter such inhuman crimes of these states come under the category of state terrorism, he remarked. He asked the International Community to recognise the legitimate struggle of Baloch people for their freedom and take necessary steps to prevent Pakistan and Iran from committing further human right violations in Balochistan.

In the end Ms Nina Danishwar submitted a petition on behalf of Baloch Community in Norway which appealed that Norway which considered one of the countries that values the Human Rights to take actions against the Human rights violations in Balochistan.

Baloch Youth from BSO-azaad distributed pamphlets of Baloch abducted activists including Zakir Majeed and others. The appealed the EU to take urge Pakistan and Iran to stop violating the basic human rights of the people of Balochistan. Well-known Baloch advocate Mr. Kachkol Ali Baloch was also present at the protest.
