Long march: Threats to Baloch caravan condemned

The caravan of 25 families started from Quetta in November 2013 and has now reached Rajanpur.
Political and rights activists have expressed concern about the alleged threats to Baloch activists and asked the government to ensure their safety.
According to reports, Mama Qadeer Baloch who is leading a long march under the aegis of the Voice of Missing Baloch Persons (VMBP), against enforced disappearances of civilians in Balochistan, has been receiving threatening calls from agencies.
The caravan of 25 families started from Quetta in November 2013 and has now reached Rajanpur.
In a joint statement on Wednesday, Awami Workers Party, Pattan Development Organisation, Women Action Forum and others said they supported the long march and said the people of Pakistan will not allow the government to deny their fundamental right to judicial course.
“We make it clear that if any harm is done to these marchers, we will register an FIR against the rulers.”
