US Ambassador calls on Speaker Balochistan Assembly

QUETTA, (APP) US Ambassador to Pakistan Anne W Patterson called on Speaker Balochistan Assembly Mohammad Aslam Bhutani at his chamber here on Thursday. The two discussed the overall law and order situation prevailing in the province and ongoing development projects being carried out under the aegis of the US government for the development of the province, said a press release issued here.

The Speaker Bhutani briefed the US Ambassador about the history of Balochistan assembly; parliamentary matters and legislation in particular were discussed during the meeting that lasted for quite some time.

The Speaker underlined the need to further promote people-to-people contacts to bring masses of the two countries closer to each other. Bhutani appreciated the role of the US ambassador in further promoting the existing friendly relations between Pakistan and the United States of America.
