Pakistan and the rest of the World watches Baluch children die

A mysterious disease has killed at least 60 East Baluchistani children and many others are still suffering from this severely painful condition. The families of the sufferers are denied any medical treatment by Pakistani authorities.

According to a report published in Balochwarna website, most of the victims of this lethal disease are children aged between 1-3 years. In March this year a private Urdu language TV report showed a local elder saying that he had been seeking attention since 1993. Pakistani health officials investigated this disease and then ordered them to keep silence or face dire consequences.

While describing the mysterious disease, a guardian said “soon after the birth of a child small white spots appear on the skin which later turn into dark spot. These will eventually rot the flesh of the body and worms start appearing from the wounds”.

As Baluch endure pain in this fashion, Pakistani authorities are spectators. Here before, Pakistanis have banned independent and international NGO from carrying out volunteer work in Baluchistan; even during the natural disasters like draught and floods. Hence Baluch continue to suffer and the World watches.
