ISLAMABAD: A delegation of legislators from Balochistan handed over a list of 42 missing political workers from Khuzdar and Mastung to Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Thursday, DawnNews reported.
The delegation comprising deputy chairman senate Jan Mohammad Jamali, PPP parliamentary leader Mir Sadiq Umrani and other provincial ministers met Malik at his residence in Islamabad to discuss the missing persons’ issue.
The legislators from Balochistan urged Rehman Malik to ensure the recovery of missing political workers in the province.
The legislators demanded of the minister that if the missing political workers were guilty of any crime they should undergo a trial; otherwise the missing should be set free, Mir Sadiq Umrani told DawnNews.
Earlier, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani also met with Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani to discuss the missing persons’ issue. Gilani then directed the interior minister to meet with Baloch ministers to resolve the issue. — DawnNews
