Recognizing a language means more than use of that language.

Recognizing a language means more than use of that language.

A nation without written standardised language cannot maintain itself; it cannot incorporate tribes into a nation. Only through standard language the educated elite can incorporate different groups that speak different dialect into single standard literate language.

Assyrian had a literate language; they failed to maintain themselves their culture disappeared with demise of their state. Other old nation, thus, Jews, Persian Turks survived by changing their character, whereas preserving a sense of common descent and collective memories.

Baluch nation not have a standardised language, it has survived pre-modern time. But Baluch outlying regions were gradually incorporated into Arab, Persian and Punjab and into dominated ethnic groups’ core. Persian and Punjabi managed to evolve relatively stable administrative tools that could be used to provide cultural regulation thereafter define the cultural identities. It were Persian, Punjabi upper-classes cultures that set the states cultures and national identities in respective state.

The bureaucratic incorporation of Pakistan’s and Iranian populations require a considerable measure of cultural mixture and social intermingling between different groups in respective state, serves to weld different ethnic communities as the result of these intermingling Baluch will lose their language and culture and gradually their cultural identity.

Many Baluch are discontented with political and social conditions in their respective state.

Baluch is lacking a literal standard language and effective communication and bargaining skill to legitimise their cultural and linguistic boundaries to ensure their distinct identity within a large state. Baluch are lacking high culture capacities that other dominant groups in Iran and Pakistan provide. Baluch has difficulty to resist manipulation by Punjabi and Persian elites that guard the myth symbols that they impose to the all dominated groups in respective country.

Baluch communities speak different dialect lack of standard Baluch’s language make the task for national consciousness difficult, in the meantime make task for Persian and Punjabi with the standard language and administration tools easier.

A Balochi language school does not exist anywhere in the World; publishing in Baluchi is prohibited in some country and Baloch are pressurised to adopt Persian, Arabic names. Language denial reinforces exclusion from other opportunities because state does not recognize Baloch language in schools, law courts and other official arenas.

For example; Iran has suppressed non Persian's languages, labelling their language inferior. Monolingual policies are most frequent source of widespread exclusion in even well-established democracies. The choice of official language in schools, the language of parliament, the language of official media and commerce shapes barriers and advantages individual face in life. Recognizing a language means more than use of that language. It symbolizes respect for people who speak it, their cultural and their full inclusion.
