Hundreds of Pakistani security forces raided New Kahan Quetta at midnight on Monday and carried 

out a house-to-house search operation.

The raided and operation was launched after the burial of mother-e-Balochistan, wife of Nawab Khair 

Bakhsh Marri, who passed away in London on 7, December, 2015.

Her corpse was send to Balochistan for burial at New Kahan graveyard, the same graveyard where 

Nawab Marri is buried.

Local sources reported that when her coffin arrived in New Kahan Quetta, Pakistani minister Jangyz 

Marri along with heavy contingents of Pakistani forces also reached at the New Kahan graveyard.

The Pakistani FC and other forces in presence of Jangyz Marri started threatening and intimidating the 

local population.

The following night at midnight the Pakistani forces raided entire New Kahan and carried out a search 

operation.

According to locals the inhabitants including women and children were harassed and made to stand in 

outside in freezing weather.

At least 12 people have been arrested and taken to the nearby Shalkot Police station.

Locals also complained that Pakistani forces broke the door of houses and looted valuables from 

possession of inhabitants.

It is believed that Pakistan minister Jangyz Marri order the operation in an effort to sabotage the 

Fateha Khawani (condolences ceremony) for mother of Hyrbyair Marri which was due to take place in 

Tuesday.

The arrested people have not been released and were held a Shalkot police station until the filing of 

this report.

Elsewhere in Balochistan also the Pakistani forces have been carrying to operations in several regions 

of Awaran, Raghe region of Besima and of Gomazi since past three days.

Baloch social media activists and independent sources from Balochistan reported that security forces 

were accompanied by local death squads of Pakistan army and members of National Party – the party 

of outgoing Chief Minister Dr Malik Baloch.

At least two people were killed during these operations and dozen have reportedly been abducted.

Separately, the Pakistani media sources have reported that Pakistani forces have killed at least 13 

suspected ‘militants’. However, the identity of the victims is yet to be confirmed.

The Pakistani media also reported that the army and other security forces have killed least 204 

people, 

wounded 29 and abducted 8326 during 1863 operations carried out under the National Action Plan 

(NAP) which started on 16 December, 2014 after the attack on Army Public School in khyber 

Pakhtunkhwa.
