(Sangar News) BNM says Pakistan has no regard for UN’s charter. The human rights values set by the United Nations (UN) are being violated by the Pakistani state in Balochistan on a daily basis, said Secretary Information of the Baloch National Movement (BNM).
Shahdad Baloch said recent military operations in the Dera Bugti area of Balochistan, continuing kill-and-dump operations, enforced disappearances and target killing of two Baloch refugees in Afghanistan show Pakistan’s increasing disregard for UN’s human rights values.
He urged the Afghan government to raise the recent target killing of two Baloch refugees on the Afghan soil by Pakistan’s intelligence agencies. “The Afghan government should take serious notice of this interference by Pakistan, which has no regard for either human rights values or international borders,” he added.
Shahdad Baloch said that by banning international aid agencies and facilitating extremist charity groups in Balochistan’s earthquake-hit area of Awaran, Pakistan desires to fuel religious and sectarian tensions in the secular Baloch society.
“This policy of promoting extremism and sectarianism in order to counter the Baloch movement is not going to work. The Baloch people have not taste for such anti-human agendas,” the BNM secretary general said.
He added that massive deployment of troops and movement of helicopters in Balochistan’s Makran region show Pakistan’s nefarious design to escalate its military operations in the region. He said the military recently conducted door-to-door search operations in Dasht and Tump areas, harassing the civilian population.
He said such massive violation of human rights values by Pakistan were enough to get its UN membership cancelled. “The United Nations should send its teams to investigate Pakistan’s crimes in Balochistan, and take steps to cancel its membership because of the state’s complete disregard for the UN’s charter,” he urged.
