KARACHI: The former CM of Balochistan and Provincial president of the PML-Q, Jam Muhammad Yousaf has accused the high ranking officials of government of inciting the ongoing military operation in Balochistan.
Talking to journalists at his Karachi residence on Thursday, he said that he had tried his utmost to stem any action against the late Akbar Bugti, till the final moments, but he was ousted from these talks by the combined efforts of Chaudhry Shujaat and Mushahid Hussain.
He scoffed at the idea of 'independent Balochistan', which had been reverberating ever since he had grown up, and said that no power has so far been able to break the Province away, as the Pakistani forces were strong enough to thwart any such notion. He said that some basic sense of deprivation should be alleviated in order to achieve a durable solution of the Baloch issue. Replying to a question, he said that India was spending a colossal amount over its cherished dream of damaging the Pakistani federation. While refuting any notion of the 'midterm' election, he indicated an impending change soon. He lauded the Balochistan package being evolved by the government, and said that all out efforts were being made for the unity of the PML factions, hoping for a positive outcome of the efforts.-Online
