Turbat Shapuk
5 March2014
- According to Baloch media reports Pakistani army abducted five civilians from Shapuk village of Turbat district during an unprovoked punitive operation on Tuesday. The family members confirmed the names of the abducted Baloch as follows Maqsood s/o Mohmed Ameen, Master Bijjar s/o Adam, Chakar s/o Bijjar, Shahab Baloch s/o Hameed and Fazal s/o Miskaan.
During this operation Pakistan army has meted a 15 hours collective punishment operation against the poor cattle grazers in the mountainous areas of Shapuk village by looting the valuables of the poor shepherds besides rounding up a large number of goats.
Further information is still awaited for confirmation from the other remote villages of the operation affected areas.
It is noted that in the recent past Pakistan army has further intensified its unwarranted operations across Balochistan with the use of more lethal weapons such as gunship helicopters and jet fighters against civilian population with virtual ban on international media to have access to Balochistan.
Pakistan’s mainstream media has, as usual, maintained the policy of purposely ignoring the Pak army operations in Balochistan
