London: Talking about the sacrifices of Baloch martyrs and those currently languishing in the prisons of occupying state Mr Marri said, “We are all indebted to these courageous individuals. They are our inspirations and leaders. We follow their path. They have proved that our people stand and fight for their rights.”

The International Voice for Baloch Missing Persons have organised a meeting on 27 March in London to condemn the occupation and forced merger of the Eastern Part of Balochistan by Pakistan.

A large number of Baloch activists from different parties participated in the meeting to express their hatred for slavery and occupation. Baloch patriot leader Hyrbyair Marri was the chief guest of the meeting. The meeting was started with two minutes of silence to pay homage to Baloch martyrs of liberation.

The speakers included Abdullah Baloch from Baloch Raaji Zrombesh, Mehrab Sarju, Hakeem Wadhela Baloch, Zahid Baloch acting organiser of Baloch National Movement, Ghulam Hussain Baloch and Estella from CAMPACC.

The speakers highlighted the need to intensify the struggle for liberation. They also stressed on the need of Baloch unity and forming of a joint strategy. They Baloch speakers strongly condemned the occupying states atrocities against Baloch people.

The speakers said those Baloch who have chosen to take part in the election of occupying states are not the well-wishers of Baloch nation. They said at a time when Balochistan was burning and Baloch nation was receiving the dead bodies of their loved ones on daily basis, taking part in the parliament and elections of murderers of Baloch nation was tantamount to becoming crime partners of those perpetrators.

Baloch leader Hyrbyair Marri in his speech also paid tributes to those sons and daughters of soil who are struggling for freedom and those who gave their precious lives for a better future for Balochistan.

He said, “We need to remember our brave men, women and children who currently are the captives of the occupying states.”

He said 27 March was the day when Pakistan army invaded the Baloch homeland on 27 March 1948, and to get rid of occupation brave Baloch men, women and youth are resisting and they are adamant to continue the struggle until the freedom of Balochistan.

Talking about the sacrifices of Baloch martyrs and those currently languishing in the prisons of occupying state Mr Marri said, “We are all indebted to these courageous individuals. They are our inspirations and leaders. We follow their path. They have proved that our people stand and fight for their rights.”

“We have no doubt that our liberation comes sooner or later but no liberation is without cost. The cost is greater when the occupying states are merciless and fundamentalist states. We are facing two of the most brutal and cunning state i.e. Iran and Pakistan,” said Mr Marri

He further said how soon the will achieve their goal depends on: a) How clear are we collectively about what we want? b) How clear are we collectively about our destination from now to the end? c) What do we put in place after our liberation? Mr Marri said unless we clarify such matters our destination will be much longer and harder.

Stressing on the need of unity among Baloch people the Baloch leader said, “The more we are united the stronger will be our liberation movement and the sooner we will achieve our aim. But with all good intention in the world we will not succeed and establish a more humane and peaceful Balochistan unless we have a well-defined democratic roadmap to follow. A road map to tell the world that we are different than fundamentalist states of Iran and Pakistan, that we’re tolerant and natural allies of the world democratic powers.”

Hyrbyair said that the future of Baloch people and Balochistan was not about a number of individuals or a few groups. “The Baloch issue is a national question. To seek a solution for the national question we need to think about the common interest and the future prospect of the whole nation,” He said.

Mr Marri said when a nation was under constant exploitation and humiliation – there will only be very few who desire no national unity. The rest will do but the time for vague wishes have gone, Baloch people have progressed far beyond wishful thinking. He this was the time for concrete plans and actions. He urged all Baloch who want a free and independent Balochistan to work together and help each other and to unite over main key objectives.

The Baloch leader said, “For the purpose of Unity and clarity of mind our friends put forward the idea of a road map upon which we can unite and put our thoughts on it collectively to improve it further in the interest of Baloch nation and Balochistan.”

Hyrbyair Marri said, “At the end of the day, Balochistan is our homeland. We have nowhere else to go. The Baloch nation is our nation. We are responsible for our homeland and our people. The well-being of our nation is our well-being and its destruction is our destruction. Hence I call for unity based on principles and future well-being of our people and homeland. We have been taking some concrete steps in this regard and will continue to do so.”

The patriot Baloch leader said since the Second World War, the situation has never been so ripe for some drastic and fundamental changes in the region. Adding that, “Anything is possible. We must not lose this opportunity and wait again for others to do our job. Our people and homeland should be above any other consideration. The future for the occupying states is bleak. We must recognise this fact and act responsibly.”

Strongly criticising Iran and Pakistan Mr Marri said, “These arbitrary states have never been free and democratic and they will never be free and democratic. Their farcical elections, parliaments and judiciary systems are additional means of repression and exploitation. Those who have not recognised this fact yet have no common interest with Baloch freedom and well-being.”

By contrast, Mr Marri said, Baloch liberation movement was a secular democratic movement. “We want general elections in a free Balochistan – not an election under the armies and security forces of the occupying states. We want Balochistan parliament in a free Balochistan where true representatives of Baloch people are elected on merit basis on one person one vote democratic system.”

Hyrbyair Marri said Baloch struggle was for human rights, freedom, democracy and justice – the occupying states and their cronies neither respect human rights nor value democracy.

Before the end of his speech Mr Marri once again urged the Baloch nation to put hand in hand and work together for the common good of our nation and homeland- for a free, democratic, united and peaceful Balochistan.

He ended his speech by saying, “May the struggle of our brave nation and sacrifices of martyrs of liberation bear fruit in shape of Free Balochistan.” He raised the slogan of long live Baloch freedom movement.
