Quetta :

The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) Chairman, Nasrullah Baloch, has said that around 70 bodies of enforced disappeared Baloch were found in different areas of Balochistan since the government of Chief Minister Dr Malik came in power.

He said, “VBMP rejects the report of CID that they presented at Supreme Court in which they claimed that many abducted Baloch including Zakir Majeed were in Afghanistan. We categorically reject this report because it is based on lies and the CID is trying to mislead the courts and general public about the issue of enforced-disappearances.”

He expressed these views addressing a press conference along with VBMP Vice Chairman, Qadeer Baloch, at the hunger-strike camp set outside the Quetta Press Club for the recovery of Baloch missing persons. He said at least 18,000 Baloch have abducted between 2001 and 2013 and their whereabouts remains unknown. The illegally detained Baloch have no access to any lawyers and their family members are kept in the dark about the fate of their loved ones.

He said 26 Baloch missing persons’ bodies were found in various areas of Karachi. He also said that the missing persons were being killed in fake operations in Bolan, Ispalinji and other areas.

“The military offensives are continued in many part of Balochistan at present. These operations are continuation of the previous government’s legacy because the military and ISI are the main ruling parties and the so called elected representatives have no power to do anything because whatever the ISI and Army wants they do that,” Said the leaders of VBMP.

He further said, “We provided evidence to the Supreme Court that our people have been tortured to death and their mutilated bodies have been dumped in desolated areas across Balochistan. Even though the apex court had passed the orders against persons responsible for abductions, but no step was taken by the government for the arrest of those involved in enforced disappearances of the Baloch missing persons.”

He said when Dr Malik Baloch was not in power, he used to say that enforced-disappearances and kill and dump must end but now his stance is unclear.

The VBMP leaders vowed that their protest camp will continue until all the abducted Baloch are not released. “We are receiving threats from different sources but we will not be intimidated by such tactics and we will continue our protest,” Said the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons leaders.

VBMP leaders appealed to the United Nation and international organisations to take notice of human rights violations in Balochistan. They said at present Baloch human rights are being grossly violated but no one was taking notice these violations of human rights.
