Balochistan: The Gohaar Movement urges UN play role for release of Baloch women
QUETTA: The Baloch Gohaar Movement (Baloch Sisters Movement) in a statement on Thursday called on United Nations to take notice of Pakistani state atrocities in Balochistan and play its due role for the safe release of abducted Baloch women and children.
The BGM termed the ongoing military operations and abduction of Baloch women and children as Pakistani state’s aggressions and genocidal policies in Balochistan. “The arrest and disappearance of Baloch women and children is against international laws and the United Nations should take serious notice of such heinous crimes,” the BGM statement read.
The BMG said if the United Nation cannot implement its conventions and protect enslaved and occupied nations, then it should not claim to be champion of human rights and democracy.
They said the Baloch nation’s survival, culture, language and national identity was at stake at the hand of occupying state and the UN should put pressure on Pakistan to stop its continuous atrocities against Baloch people.
According to the BGM press release, “The dumping of the mutilated bodies, abductions of Baloch youth, elderly and women & children have become a regular practice Pakistani forces in Balochistan.”
They said the Balochistan is a war zone and the UN and other Human Rights Organisations should give priority to the basic issue of the Baloch national survival and identity than talking about secondary issues like health, education and other insignificant problems.
