Sweden: A one-day seminar was held in Stockholm, the Capital of Sweden, on the ongion Human Rights violation and the current situation of Balochistan. The Swedish Liberal Party (Folkpartiet) and a Sweden based Baloch political activist Mohammad Zainudini Baloch had organised the event.
Baloch leaders Hyrbyair Marri, Khan Suleman Daud Khan, Akhtar Mengal, Human Rights activists Angela Harvy and a representative of Amnesty International talked about the Baloch plight and the current situation of Balochistan.
Speech of Khan of Kalat: Mr chairman ,organisers, Ladies and Gentleman, thank you very much for giving me this opportunity to share with you sorrow and pains that the Baluch nation are subjected to by occupiers ( Pakistan and Iranian forces).
The recent waves of extra judicial killing of the Baluch by the Pakistani security forces: The issue of Baluch right for an independent state is of legitimate international concern and do not constitute exclusively an internal affair of Pakistan.
The Iranian theocratic regime denied the Baluch in Iran the basic civil rights. The basic human rights such as freedom of speech, worship, association are denied to the Baluch.
The Iranians have failed to accommodate the Baluch pre-existing cultural, legal, political institutions and traditions. >> CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD COMPLETE SPEECH OF MIR SULEIMAN DAUD
Speech of Hyrbyair Marri: This is a very important occasion for us to highlight the extreme violation of our human and democratic rights by the occupying states of Pakistan and Iran. This is a significant event since we are gathered here, in Stockholm, the capital city of a nation that prides herself for their respect to human rights, liberty, social and economic justice. These are exactly the same values that our Baloch nation has been striving ever since our homeland was illegally occupied by the British Imperial army in 1839.
For many decades, Swedish people fought for the same rights and values. But now these rights are a part of the social, political, legal and cultural norms of the fabric of your society. For us we are even forbidden to use our own language in our homeland. It is worth mentioning that our language is one of oldest languages in the region. An additional irony is, currently more academic research, on Balochi language, is in progress in Sweden than in Balochistan. >>> CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD COMPLETE SPEECH OF HYRBYAIR MARRI
Speech of Angela Harvery: International borders are never completely just. However the degree of injustice they inflict upon those whose borders force together or separate ethnic groups makes an enormous difference, often the difference between freedom and oppression, tolerance and atrocity, the rule of law and terrorism, or even peace and war.
The most arbitrary and distorted borders in the world exist in Africa and in the Middle East and although the Middle East has far more problems than dysfunctional borders alone — from cultural stagnation, inequality and religious extremism etc., the greatest taboo in striving to understand that the region’s comprehensive failure is the awful-but-sacrosanct international boundaries that are so protected by international governments today. More worryingly these borders continue to provoke the deaths of millions of local inhabitants and they generate more problems than people can tolerate locally.
Let us be clear that one haunting wrong can never be redressed with a reward of territory, but there is a need to redress the wrongs suffered by population groups such as the Kurds and the Baloch people. There is also a need to take urgent action to stop the genocide perpetrated against the Baloch by the Pakistan State and military, which Pakistan have tried to deny but is totally undeniable.
I think it is important to mention the fact that Balochistan did enjoy a brief period of independence between August 1947 and March 1948 and although Pakistan wanted Balochistan to join them this call was rejected by both Houses of Parliament in Balochistan in February 1948. Balochistan was invaded in March 1948 and force was used to annex Balochistan. >> CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD COMPLETE SPEECH OF ANGELA HARVERY
Speech of Akhtar Mengal Honourable Members of Parliament, Respected Swedish citizens and my beloved Baloch brothers and sisters:
On behalf of Balochistan National Party and people of Balochistan, let me sincerely thank you for your attention to underreported human rights emergency and understanding of Balochistan's strategic and political importance concerning peace and stability in the region.
In fact, due to Pakistan and Iran's iron-curtain policy vis-a vis Balochistan, the sheer scale of political repression, enforced disappearances, extra-judicial killings and exploitation of marginalized Baloch people by the both repressive regimes has gained very little regional and international attention.
Although it's hard to bury facts in currently globalized world and particularly in presence of marvellous communication tools but many repressive regimes including Pakistan, are using death squads, fear, intimidation and systematic blockages to slowdown the flow of information and facts.
And that's what exactly happening in France-sized Balochistan region. In last three years seventeen Journalists abducted and killed because of their determination to unearth truth about slow-motion genocide of Baloch people. >> CLICK HERE TO READ THE COMPLETE SPEECH OF AKHTAR MENGAL
