Occupied Balochistan: Exiled Baloch leaders, Baloch political parties and student organisations, the Baloch Women Panel and the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons in Balochistan have strongly condemned the target killing of Mir Bakhtiar Domki’s wife, daughter and their driver in Karachi.
In the wee hours of Tuesday, Balochistan MPA Mir Bakhtiar Khan Domki’s wife and 13-year-old daughter Jannan along with their family driver, Barkat Baloch, were gunned down by unidentified assailants in the Gizri area. The deceased were also the sister and niece of Baloch Republican Party (BRP) leader Brahmdagh Bugti.
Exile Baloch leaders Akhtar Mengal and Khan of Kalat Suleman Daud Khan, in separate statements, have strongly condemned the killing and blamed the Pakistani state for the brutal slayings.
Baloch leader Hyrbyair Marri has also called Brahumdagh Bugti and offer condolences on the brutal murder of his sister and niece in Karachi.
Talking exclusively to BalochWarna, Mr Marri said: “It is not the first time that Pakistani security forces have attacked Baloch women. So many such incidents took place since the illegal occupation of Balochistan. Baloch houses have been bombed where several Baloch women and children were killed. In 70s several Baloch women were arrested and tortured to death.
“The attacks on girls’ hostel in Quetta, protest rally of Baloch Women Panel and the Killing of Gulnaz Marri, Shahnaz Baloch and 80 year old Baloch mother, Bibi Mehtab, and now the attack on the wife and daughter of Mir Bakhtiar Domki are all continuation of state sponsored terrorism. In the past also the Pakistan intelligence agencies’ personnel had been following families (Children) of Baloch leaders, on their way to schools, in Karachi and threaten to either kill or abduct them.”
Meanwhile a complete shutter-down strike was observed in Nasirabad and Sibi division against the target killing of Balochistan Republican Party (BRP) chief Brahamdagh Bugti’s sister and niece in Karachi on Monday. Protest was also observed in Baloch populated areas in Karachi.
Life came to a halt in more than a dozen townships and cities of the province, while people condemned the brutal killing of women and children.
Strike was observed in Sibbi, Shoran, Dhaddar, Mach, Dera Allahyar, Usta Muhammad, Bakhtiarabad, Lehri, Sohbatpur, Nasirabad and Ghandawa to protest against the killings of the granddaughter and great-granddaughter of Nawab Akbar Bugti. The government and its agencies had been chasing Brahamdagh Bugti in Afghanistan and Switzerland, the party recalled.
Call for strike: The Baloch republican party of Brahumdagh Bugti has called for a two-day shutter down strike on February 2 and 3 and Balochistan-wide wheel jam strike on February 4 and 5. It is hoped that all Baloch political parties, business owner, students’ organisations and other members of society will heed to strike call of the BRP and make it successful.
