BALOCHISTAN: At least six previously abducted Baloch have been killed and dumped by Pakistan army in Bolan area of Balochistan whereas two others have been killed target killed after an attack on an FC check post in Espelinji area near Mastung.
On 10 August the Pakistan military claimed to have killed six ‘militants’ during a military operation in Mach area of district Bolan in Balochistan. The Pakistani state sponsored media was quick enough to blindly follow the ISPR statement and reported the incident as an operation against Baloch militants.
However, the real story is completely different because all the six victims were already in the custody of Pakistan military and they had been abducted from different areas of Balochistan. The deceased were killed in cold-blood under-military’s custody and their bodies were dumped in Bolan under the pretext of a sham encounter with Baloch freedom fighters.
According to preliminary media reports the victims of killed and dump policy have been named as Bijjar Ahamd son of Ali Bux Marri Baloch, Sanwal Khan and his brother Rehmantullah son of Ahmad Khan Marri Baloch, Wahid Bux son of Nabi Bux Marri Baloch and Dad Ali son of Mehrab Marri Baloch. One of the deceased could not be identified so far.
Bijjar Ahmad Marri was abducted along with his cousin Khodad Marri from Rabi area of Dera Allah Yar on 24 June 2013. They were travelling to their home to Karachi when Pakistan military have off-loaded them from a passenger bus at a check post at Bakhtyarabad. Khodad Marri’s bullet-ridden body was found on 1st July 2013 in Dera Alla Yar where Bijjar Ahmad was missing until 10 August when his body was found dumped in Bolan area of Balochistan.
The International Voice for Baloch Missing Persons had registered the case of Bijjar Ahmad with the UN Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances.
Sanwal Khan (16 years old) and Rehmatuallah Marri (14 years old) were abducted from Notal area of Naseerabad on 8 April, 2013. Both brothers were student of grade six and seven; they were on their way to Sibi when they have been abducted.
Dad Ali and Nabi Bux were reportedly arrested near Macch Bridge on 8 August after they were returning from Eid shopping form main bazar of Machh town.
It is pertinent to mention that this is the second incident of fake encounter by Pakistan army. Earlier Pakistan military had dumped bodies of abducted persons in Mastung town of Balochistan and claimed that they were killed during a military operation.
Baloch analyst believe this is yet another new and dirty tactic of Pakistan army under which the state is trying to hide its crimes of enforced-disappearances and under-custody killings in the guise of fake military operations and encounters.
Separately, on Saturday Pakistan FC shot dead two Baloch activist after an attack on an FC check post in Espelinji area of Balochistan. Balochistan local media reported that the killed men were unarmed and innocent civilians.
In another incident of target killing an activist of Baloch National Movement was targeted by death squads of Pakistan military in Naal area of Khuzdar district in Balochistan.
Rafeeq Sumalani, a senior member of Baloch National Movement (BNM) was on his way to home after greeting Eid to his relatives when unknown motorcyclists opened indiscriminate fire on him. He succumbed to his injured on the spot.
The BNM has said that Pakistan military death squads were behind his murder. Previously several members of pro-freedom Baloch parties including the BNM have been killed in similar fashion of target killings across Balochistan.
Meanwhile the Baloch Human Rights Organisation protested outside Karachi Press Club to condemn the murder of six previously abducted Baloch in cold-blood in Bolan, military operation and abductions in Awaran, killing of two Baloch in Espelinji and murder of BNM activist Mr Rafeeq Sumalani and the brutal murder of Baloch poet Kachkol Ali Bahar in Turbat.
The BHRO has urged the UN and other human rights organisations to take notice of on-going human rights violations, military offensives and the daily kill and dump of Baloch activists by Pakistan military.
